New Series: Ancestral Roses
Ancestral Roses 2
Acrylic & Antique Wallpaper on Canvas 60 x 95 cm © Viky Garden "Over 120 years ago, these remnants of rose bouquets were brand new wallpaper in an Auckland villa – very possibly chosen by the woman for whom the house was built. Successive tenants covered over the walls, but recently, the paper re-emerged as the villa was renovated. By rescuing some of this paper and including it in my work, she and I have effectively collaborated on the Ancestral Roses paintings." ~ Viky Garden
