"My mornings involve small children, but one of the things I love most about going to residencies is having my morning to myself; waking up at my own pace and greeting my thoughts." ~ Rita (NY)
"I take care of odds and ends first thing in the morning, so I can concentrate on the rest of my day. This means that after my morning coffee and quick, healthy breakfast (e.g. fresh fruit/yogurt), I check the weather, read through the front page headlines, set food and water out for the dog, and do a quick set of jumping jacks (to get the blood flowing) before heading into the shower. This all takes about one hour. Then, I drive to work (check in on my elderly mom via phone on the way)...of course, currently, I walk to my home office...but I've kept the same routine...including a 10 min. chat with Mom!" ~ Beth (VA)
"My 'morning ritual' that sets the tone for the day is to do my back stretching exercises. I have scoliosis, and I have to practice good posture throughout the day. But doing my stretching first thing in the morning - after breakfast, of course - just gets my back straightened out and my body feeling in a good physical state." ~ Lea (NY)
"Morning meditation, thinking of people/things/places that I'm grateful for." ~ Anonymous (NY)
