March 2023 Featured Artist
LAURA DODSON Award-Winning Photographer Based in New York City & Athens, Greece "Spin Cycle" ~ Self-Portrait with Daughter, Zoe
|
Laura continues with new projects, and her work has been included in several exhibitions. In September, her work was included in the Soho Photo Gallery Member Exhibition.
In November, Laura's unframed exhibition from her "ShoeStories" series was on display at Alex Ferrone Gallery. Laura says of this series: "In fairy tales, shoes are imbued with magical powers: they save, they transport, and they contain their heroes and heroines. By using them as vases, I emphasize their qualities as metaphorical vessels, but I also hope to convey the possibility of 'the other shoe' dropping." |

Readers just met Sonia in our November issue.
She continues to work at ninety years young. Our November issue has the theme "Aging Gracefully." So Sandra Bertrand asked her to share advice she would she give an aging artist... "The difficulty is to maintain a certain level of interest. As we age, it gets harder. You want to still have the excitement when you’ve done so much and seen so much. It’s difficult." |
