November 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: Bette Ann Moskowitz is an award-winning author and teacher. Her memoir Do I Know You? A Family’s Journey through Aging and Alzheimer’s won a New York State Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fellowship for Literary Non-fiction and The Room at the End of the Hall: An Ombudsman’s Notebook was a Finalist in NYFA’s literary non-fiction category. She has just finished the novel Three Legs in the Evening, a story about a middle-aged woman who reinvents herself, embraces a newfound sensuality and finds love again after a terrorist attack rocks her personal and external world. Bette has also been a dedicated teacher for decades and is a winner of the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

October 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: Rosita Larsson is an award-winning artist from Stockholm, Sweden. She works mostly in acrylic, watercolor and ink, but she is also a photographer and mixed media artist. She combines elements of art deco, psychedelia, and surrealism in a unique manner. Rosita has been exhibiting her art for over 35 years in both solo and group exhibitions in her native Sweden and elsewhere, including the U.S., UK, Italy, Brazil, France and Bulgaria. She has won many awards for her artwork over the years, including several in 2012 for her botanical and floral photographs. Rosita uses her art to participate in and to aid charitable organizations.

September 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: Heather Harrington is an award-winning dancer and choreographer. She has danced with several renowned companies, including the Doris Humphrey Repertory Company, the Martha Graham Ensemble, the Pearl Lang Dance Theater and Bella Lewitzky Dance Company. She ran her own modern dance company, Heather Harrington Dance Company, in New York City for nine years, performing nationally and internationally with a focus on site-specific dance. She has received numerous grants for her work. Heather is currently an adjunct professor of modern dance and theory at Kean University, and she also teaches at Seton Hall University.

July 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: Claire Lambe is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and educator who was born in Ireland and is a resident of Woodstock, NY. Claire is a versatile artist who is best known for her stunning portraits. She has presented her work in many solo and group exhibitions. For the past year, she has been living and working in Berlin and is part of a two-person exhibition at Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin: (WIKO), Berlin’s Institute for Advanced Study. She is an instructor for the historic Woodstock School of Art and writes for Roll Magazine.

May 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: Hanne Lore Koehler was born in Aachen, Germany and grew up in Ontario, Canada where she resides today. She is a painter as well as an author and illustrator of children’s books. Hanne’s work has appeared on the covers of numerous magazines, including Discover Fort Collins, Holistic Health Networker, The Showcase, Pratiques des Art, and Country Woman. Her paintings have been sold to art enthusiasts in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Britain, Germany, Africa and Australia.

April 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: For National Poetry Month we are featuring the following poets: Linda Crate: Linda is a poet from Pennsylvania. Her poetry and other works have been published in diverse magazines both online and in print. Betty Farber: Betty is a poet from New York City. Betty’s book of poems, My New York: City Poems was included in the 2016 Poets House Showcase in New York City. Linda Mason Hunter: Linda splits her time between her homes in Iowa and Vancouver. She is a former editor and has written and produced 17 books. Mary C. Leonard: Mary is a poet from New York. Her poems, essays, short fiction and mixed genre pieces have been published in numerous journals, and she is also the author of four chapbooks.

March 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: Alison Jardine is an award-winning artist who works in a broad range of disciplines, including new media, sculpture and painting. Alison’s work has been exhibited across the U.S., including Dallas (Erin Cluley Gallery), New York, San Francisco, Connecticut and Georgia. She was commissioned to create work for a social media art project for the London Olympics in 2012, and her digital art has been featured in several art magazines and on television (CBS 11). Her forthcoming book, Make Great Art on the iPad, will be published this summer in both Europe and the U.S. (Octopus Press, Hachette, London).

FEBRUARY 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: Sally West is an award-winning painter from Australia. She received a Bachelor of Visual Communications from KVB College of Visual Communications in North Sydney. Sally has had group exhibitions throughout Australia, France, London, Hong Kong and Germany as well as several solo exhibitions in Manhattan, Sydney and Melbourne. She has sold her paintings to private collectors around the globe. She has been the winner of numerous awards and is a regular finalist in many prestigious competitions. Most recently, she was selected as a finalist in the North Sydney Art Prize (2017). Her work will be displayed at the iconic Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability in Waverton, Australia.

JANUARY 2017 FEATURED ARTIST: René Marie is a Grammy-nominated jazz vocalist, composer, arranger and theatrical performer who has entertained audiences throughout the U.S. and Europe. Her latest release in her ever-expanding body of work is Sound of Red (Motéma, 2016) which recently garnered a second Grammy nomination for René. It’s her first music CD containing all-original material, which provides insightful glimpses into the many small but profound turning points that are part of an individual life. In addition to producing 11 music CDs, René’s created her one-woman stage show, Slut Energy Theory, a play about overcoming abuse and incest. In 2010, she launched a series of vocal therapy group sessions called SLAM!, which enables her to give back by sharing her vocal philosophy with others.
