Award-winning Artist
Rosita Larsson
~~~
Rosita Larsson is an award-winning artist from Stockholm, Sweden. She works mostly in acrylic, watercolor and ink, but she is also a photographer and mixed media artist. She doesn’t set out to produce art about one subject or another, but lets her art flow naturally. She is constantly drawing, and sometimes the drawings are left in the sketchbook while others develop into more in-depth ideas and detailed images. She considers the creative process magical – coming from her soul directly to the pen or brush. Her ink drawings of birds, landscapes, flowers and other subjects are notable for their linear grace and imaginative qualities.
Rosita combines elements of Art Deco, psychedelia, and surrealism in a unique manner. She has a passion for flowers and architecture, and she is influenced by her unique life experience. Her work often has a double-meaning, expressed in the titles of her work and multiple points of view. Her photographs are completely true to the subject – she does not use any photo editing or manipulation software/programs. |
Rosita has been exhibiting her art for over 35 years in both solo and group exhibitions in her native Sweden and elsewhere, including the U.S., UK, Italy, Brazil, France and Bulgaria. She has won many awards for her artwork over the years, including several in 2012 for her botanical and floral photographs. Rosita also uses her art to participate in and to aid charitable organizations. Her work is included in two anthologies: Drops from the World (in English and Italian) uses proceeds to help supply filters to purify water in Bangladesh (they've yielded pure water for 3 villages so far) and 100 Voce per Amatrice e... is a collection of works by artists, writers, photographers, and poets. Proceeds from this book go toward helping to rebuild the village of Amatrice, Italy after an earthquake devastated the area in August 2016. Rosita's work is included in a group exhibition themed "Peace and Solidarity" in Silandro, Italy, and her work can be viewed in exhibitions in other Italian cities throughout the year.
Rosita says that she loves to create to “put a smile on someone’s face and to inspire. ” She has four children and five grandchildren.
