Janene Bouck is a professional photographer based in New York. She opened Silent Jane Salvage in 2015, where she digitally restores photography and sells her paintings, photography and multi-media work. In addition to fine art, she also creates fashion and décor at the Silent Jane Studio in Broadalbin, NY using vintage and salvaged items.
Janene chose to pursue her passions in 2014 after losing her sister to ovarian/pancreatic cancer and a decline in her own health. Janene is inspired by nature, and her collected or reclaimed materials originate from the Great Sacandaga Lake Area, the Adirondack Park and the Mohawk Valley Regions. Janene's awards include a juror’s choice award at “The Art of New York” Annual Juried Art Show (2016), an honorable mention for the Mary Cleland Art Award at the 2016 Statewide Summer Art Show, and "Best in Show" at the Winter Art Show (2018). In 2019, Janene was awarded an artist’s grant for her solo exhibition, "Salvage," through Saratoga Arts (funded by the NYSCA with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the NYS Legislature) and held another solo exhibition, "Vulnerable Places," a collection of her western landscape photography. Janene is a proud member of the SVAN Valley Arts Network, Saratoga Arts, the Albany Center Gallery and the Arkell Museum. |
