KAREN is an award-winning writer, editor and journalist with an expertise in connecting people and businesses across print and digital platforms, including more than 1,600 articles for such publications as Professional Office Design, Interior Design, the Poughkeepsie Journal, Chronogram, Hudson Valley Magazine and Hudson Valley Parent, where she also was the magazine’s editor. Recently, Karen served as a director with public relations firm C.C. Sullivan, where she edited and crafted press and communications materials. She is honored to share stories of people, businesses and organizations that are making a difference.
A cofounder of Children’s Writers of the Hudson Valley and author of children’s book Jobs in Transportation for Core Library, Karen earned the 2011-2012 Distinguished Specialty Supplement Feature Writing Award of Excellence by The New York News Publishers Association. She is a past committee member for the New York: Eastern Upstate Chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Millbrook Literary Festival, and Arts Mid-Hudson.
Karen was raised in Poughkeepsie, New York, and currently resides in Highland, New York. In her free time, she walks, enjoys the company of family (she has a son and a daughter) and friends, and, of course, reads.
