Karen is an award-winning writer who has enjoyed sharing news, insights and trends through her articles for Professional Office Design, Interior Design, the Poughkeepsie Journal, the Beacon Dispatch, Hudson Valley magazine and Hudson Valley Parent, where she also was the magazine’s editor. She currently works with the public relations firm C.C. Karen’s background also includes supporting children’s literature as a co-founder of Children’s Writers of the Hudson Valley. She’s also a past committee member for the New York: Eastern Upstate Chapter of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, Millbrook Literary Festival and Arts Mid-Hudson.
Karen was raised in Poughkeepsie, NY where she currently resides. In her free time, she bikes, walks, enjoys the company of family (she has a son and a daughter) and friends, and, of course, reads.
Karen’s musings on the arts, the sciences and everything in between can be found from her blog, Crankin’ Up Creativity.
Statement: Sanctuary magazine’s excellence in showcasing pathways to personal and professional fulfillment are matched by its distinctive ability to bring people together and open doors to new ways of thinking and being, all of which resonate with me. It’s wonderful to be a part of Sanctuary’s talented team and to honor such empowering ideals.
