KIM VUOZZO
New York photographer, Kim Vuozzo, has captured red-shouldered hawks in an intimate and stunning way. She says: "I watched them from my living room window...from the time the parents made the nest, until all the babies flew away. I got quite attached to them, as this became an eight week journey of photographing and videotaping them daily. I felt like a proud parent as I observed them preparing to take their first flight. I keep wishing that one of them will come back and nest here again, but no such luck. Maybe the word got out that there was a crazy lady lingering nearby and constantly pointing a camera at them!"
Kim is passionate about all things photography, including innovative display work (such as re-purposing doors into antique-style photo collages) and photo manipulation. The "painterly effects" photos seen on our TRIO and STAFF pages were created by Kim.
