Reader responses...
"My mom, Suzanne Sanger, is a prolific artist who celebrated her 82nd birthday in September and continues to make relevant, gorgeous artwork at a fast clip that belies her age. Her textile art has developed over the years since she taught herself to quilt in the 1980’s by finishing a comforter started by her Aunt Blanche. In fact, it has grown into a large and impressive body of work that includes representative and abstract wall hangings, soft sculpture, and ‘handheld art’ that continuously ranks her as one of Pinkwater Gallery’s bestselling artists. Splitting her time between Asheville, North Carolina and Naples, Florida, Suzanne has flourished at an age and in a time of life (widowhood) when many people simply shut down. Instead, she has embodied the concept of aging into her power." ~ Anne Sanger (NY) |

"My mom, Myrna Kathleen King, is an inspiration to everyone who has the pleasure of knowing her.
In 2016, she suffered a severe stroke. But this hasn't stopped her from doing everything and anything her mind and body will allow. She defied all odds by gaining mobility back well beyond what her doctors had imagined. Through all of the challenges, she hasn't lost her love of life and family. She continues to have a positive outlook, enjoy her grandchildren (all six!), and seek adventures. This month, Mom, Dad, my husband and I vacationed together in the Caribbean (see Myrna's Musings). She approaches every day with hope and a sense of humor. Mom turns 82 on 11/22. Happy Birthday!!" ~ Myrna Beth Haskell (NY) |

"My aunt, Ellen R. She raised me and inspires me to be a better person. I don't have a photo she'll let me use - ha! But I wanted to send a shout-out anyway." ~ Robin (SC)
