Ward Lamb is an award-winning artist who has been painting for 40 years. After high school, he attended the Maine College of Art (MECA) and went on to receive his B.F.A. from SUNY Stony Brook. Ward attended The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture on scholarship and finished his M.F.A. at Brooklyn College. In 1994, he traveled to the United Kingdom to teach on a Fulbright Scholarship for one year at Hinchingbrooke School in Cambridgeshire. Ward was the chairman of the Art Department at Minisink Valley High School in New York's Orange County until his retirement in 2015.
Ward has exhibited his work in the Hudson Valley Region of New York and in New York City. His works are part of public and private collections in the U.S. and elsewhere in the international community. Most recently, his work was showcased by the Leslie-Lohman Museum in their Spring St. Annex in Manhattan. This solo exhibition was titled “Pattern and Desire,” and he has deemed it the most comprehensive exhibit of his career. Ward's works range from realism to impressionism, landscape to expressionistic figures. He says, “My artwork covers many facets of my emotions and personality. The subjects that become my artwork rivet me and find a place in my working mind. I usually process in an intuitive way, and most of that work takes place in the back of my mind where my inner direction rarely takes a formulaic route to completion. Accidents foster creativity.” |
Ward is proud to have done portrait work for actress-singer Cher, among many other interesting individuals. His portraits are available on commission for groups, couples and individuals.
